BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) — In an action-packed day in the Chinese Super League (CSL), Chengdu Rongcheng and Beijing Guoan battled to a dramatic 2-2 draw, while Tianjin Jinmen Tiger secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Henan FC on Saturday.
Chengdu Rongcheng’s defender Tang Miao marked a significant milestone by making his 300th CSL appearance. The 33-year-old veteran, who began his professional career in 2012 and previously played for Guangzhou City, was celebrated for his longevity and contributions to the league.
Chengdu took an early advantage in the match when Tim Chow delivered a precise pass to midfielder Romulo, who calmly slotted the ball into the far corner in the 24th minute. The team extended their lead to 2-0 in the 40th minute, thanks to Felipe Silva’s sharp finish from inside the penalty box.
However, Beijing Guoan came back strongly in the second half. Cao Yongjing headed in a long-range effort in the 52nd minute, bringing them back into contention. Their persistence paid off 17 minutes later when Lin Liangming completed a swift counter-attack to level the score at 2-2.
With this result, Chengdu Rongcheng and Beijing Guoan continue to hold their positions in the league standings, with Chengdu sitting third with 52 points and Beijing fourth with 43 points. Both teams are trailing behind Shanghai Port and Shanghai Shenhua, who lead with 66 and 64 points respectively.
In other CSL matches of the day, Wang Qiuming’s decisive goal ensured a 1-0 victory for Tianjin Jinmen Tiger over Henan FC. Meanwhile, Changchun Yatai edged out Nantong Zhiyun in a thrilling 3-2 win with a last-minute goal, and Cangzhou Mighty Lions triumphed over Meizhou Hakka with a 2-1 scoreline.
