Dadoo Rangers Triumph in Kashmir Cup Season 2; Event Highlights Importance of Sports in Society

Srinagar, Sep 14: The highly anticipated Kashmir Cup Season 2, meticulously organised by the Dalgate Sports Club, concluded with a thrilling finale at the TRC Ground, where the Dadoo Rangers emerged victorious as champions. This season featured an exhilarating competition among seven franchise teams from various regions of Kashmir, adopting the Indian Premier League (IPL) format to enhance the excitement and engagement.

The grand closing ceremony was graced by several notable dignitaries. Among them were Parvaiz Qaiser, a former Ranji Player renowned for his contributions to cricket; Emraan Bhat and Shah Javaid, the dedicated organisers of the event; Syed Ajaz Kashani; and Dr. Touseef Ahmed, the Patron and Mentor of Dalgate Sports Club. Members of the Dalgate Sports Club were also present, adding to the event’s prestige.

Dr. Touseef Ahmed delivered a compelling speech, highlighting the critical importance of promoting sports as a means to combat the alarming rise of drug abuse in society. “Through initiatives like the Kashmir Cup,” he remarked, “we aim to provide a constructive platform for the youth to channel their energy into positive and healthy pursuits.” His words resonated deeply with the audience, underscoring the social impact of such sporting events.

The tournament spanned 15 days and included 22 fiercely contested matches, featuring over 100 talented cricketers from across Kashmir. The Dadoo Rangers clinched the championship title after defeating Valley Fresh in a nail-biting final match. The event not only showcased exceptional cricketing talent but also epitomized sportsmanship and teamwork, reflecting the club’s unwavering commitment to nurturing a vibrant sports culture in Kashmir.

In his concluding remarks, Dr. Ahmed emphasized, “Sports have the power to transform lives and communities. We are immensely proud to contribute to this positive movement through the Kashmir Cup. Congratulations to the Dadoo Rangers for their well-deserved victory, and heartfelt gratitude to our partners, officials, and participants for their roles in making this event a remarkable success.”
