Delai FC, Asufü Football Academy, and Asufü Christian Institute Triumph in NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy Matches

KOHIMA — The third day of the 24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy witnessed thrilling action at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima, where Delai FC, Asufü Football Academy, and Asufü Christian Institute emerged victorious in their first-round matches.

In the opening match on Tuesday, Delai FC demonstrated superior skills and tactics, securing a 3-1 win over Japfü Christian College. The game saw its first breakthrough when Thoungoumang Touthang netted a goal for Delai FC in the 43rd minute, setting the stage for an exciting second half. Thanglenlal Singson extended the lead with a well-placed goal in the 66th minute, showcasing his agility and precision. Despite a brief resurgence by Japfü Christian College, marked by Keholeto Kikhi’s goal in the 68th minute, Delai FC maintained their dominance. Lalgougin Haokip sealed the victory with an additional goal during stoppage time (70th+3 minute), earning him the title of player of the match for his outstanding performance.

The second match of the day featured Asufü Football Academy against Kohima Sports Club. Asufü Football Academy clinched a decisive 2-0 victory, thanks to the remarkable efforts of P Sorormi Thingsang. Thingsang struck early in the 24th minute and then added another goal just before halftime (35th+3 minute), ensuring his team’s advancement to the next round. His exceptional play earned him the player of the match accolade.

In the final match of the day, Asufü Christian Institute faced off against Kohima Village YO and secured a solid 2-0 win. Ngararsing Railhan was the star of the match, scoring both goals for his team. His first goal came early in the 13th minute, and he followed up with another in the 38th minute, showcasing his relentless offensive pressure and technical prowess. Railhan’s contributions were pivotal in Asufü Christian Institute’s triumph and earned him the player of the match honor.

WEDNESDAY’S MATCHES

At 9:30 am, New Reserve Youth Organization will take on Nousi Rüzhü in the Colleges category, promising another exciting day of football action.
