Haryana only needed a draw to advance but instead finished their group stage with a perfect nine points from three matches, setting up a semifinal clash against Group D winners Himachal Pradesh. The other highly anticipated semifinal will see hosts Assam, who emerged victorious in Group A, facing off against Group C champions Rajasthan.
The match saw Haryana leading 1-0 at halftime, but it was in the second half that they truly unleashed their prowess, leaving Chandigarh in disarray. Striker Rajeev Kapoor was the star of the match, netting an impressive four goals. He was well-supported by his teammates Harjinder Singh, Sukhvinder Singh, and Piyush Rathi, each contributing a goal to the scoreline.
In an earlier match within the same group, Tripura put on a spectacular display against the bottom-placed Andaman and Nicobar, achieving a staggering 14-0 win. Keisham Bikash Singh was instrumental in this triumph, scoring four goals. Laishram Mahesh Singh, Dennison Pukhrambam, Susan Waikhom, and Sapam Sarjit Singh completed the rout with one goal each.
Additionally, Goa secured full points in another Group B encounter by defeating Uttar Pradesh 4-0. Joseph Decosta was the highlight of this match, achieving a hat-trick, while Anosh Frenoy Vaz added another goal to seal their comprehensive win.
