Agartala (Tripura) [India], September 14 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha underscored the critical importance of comprehensive training in the sports sector to elevate performance levels and cultivate a culture of excellence within the state’s sports ecosystem.
Speaking at a significant event in Agartala, the Chief Minister remarked, “There is an abundance of talent in our state. We are also making strides in developing robust infrastructure. With adequate and proper training, our athletes will undoubtedly bring us glory on various platforms.”
Emphasizing the necessity of rigorous practice and maintaining high levels of fitness, Chief Minister Saha recommended the integration of yoga and gymnastics into athletes’ training regimens. These practices, he noted, are essential for achieving peak physical condition and mental resilience, which are critical for success in competitive sports.
The occasion for these remarks was the felicitation and award distribution ceremony organized by the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.
The Chief Minister called upon the officials of the TCA to pursue excellence with unwavering dedication, aiming to bring accolades to Tripura at both national and international arenas. He stressed that the primary objective should be the holistic development of the sports sector and the nurturing of players.
Highlighting ongoing developments, he mentioned the ambitious project of constructing an international-standard stadium at Narsinghgarh. Despite facing several challenges, including limited space for vehicle movement, efforts are underway to ensure the project’s success.
To address these logistical issues, Chief Minister Saha stated that directives had been issued to the District Magistrate and relevant officials. He assured that if required, additional land would be acquired and handed over to the TCA to facilitate proper arrangements for the stadium.
The event was graced by prominent figures such as Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Tinku Roy, former Indian cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar, IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal, and honorary TCA president Tapan Lodh, among other dignitaries.
This gathering not only celebrated achievements but also set a clear roadmap for the future, emphasizing infrastructure development, comprehensive training, and the integration of holistic fitness practices like yoga and gymnastics to forge a new era of sporting excellence in Tripura.
