At the illustrious Venice International Film Festival, Nicole Kidman made a breathtaking entrance for the premiere of the erotic thriller “Babygirl.” The acclaimed 57-year-old actress, known for her Oscar-winning performances, captivated onlookers in a striking nude corset paired with a luxurious velvet black skirt. This ensemble not only highlighted her timeless elegance but also set a dramatic tone for the evening.
Kidman stars alongside Harris Dickinson, famed for his role in “The Iron Claw,” in this gripping film that delves into a complex love affair between a powerful chief executive and a much younger intern. Her role in “Babygirl” further cements her position as a versatile and fearless actress willing to explore challenging narratives.
Earlier this year, Kidman was celebrated with an American Film Institute life achievement award, recognizing her profound contributions to the film industry. On Friday’s red carpet, she showcased a corset adorned with subtle black specks, featuring intricate tulle elements and fringe beading. The corset’s boning accentuated her slender waist, exuding both sophistication and allure.
Accessorizing her ensemble, Kidman opted for elegant pearl drop earrings and classic black heels. Her makeup was kept light and dewy, enhancing her natural beauty and adding a fresh glow to her look.
During a press conference at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, Kidman emphasized her dedication to championing female directors in the industry. She specifically highlighted her support for Halina Reijn, the director of “Babygirl,” aiming to address and improve gender disparities within the filmmaking world.
Accompanying Kidman on the red carpet was her co-star Harris Dickinson, 28, who exuded charm in a sleek grey suit paired with a light-coloured shirt. His slicked-back hair added a touch of classic refinement to his overall appearance.
The star-studded event also saw appearances from producer David Hinojosa and fellow co-stars Sophie Wilde and Antonio Banderas, alongside director Halina Reijn. The premiere attracted numerous celebrities, including “Skins” actress Kaya Scodelario, “Riverdale” stars Camila Mendes and Lili Reinhart, “Doctor Who’s” Ncuti Gatwa, and “Casino Royale” star Eva Mendes.
Scodelario, 32, who also features in Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series “The Gentlemen,” opted for a stunning one-shoulder black sequined gown, adding to the evening’s glamour.
A24 Films has slated “Babygirl” for a Christmas Day release this year, promising audiences a provocative and engaging cinematic experience just in time for the holidays.
