MIAMI – Haitian American actor Béchir Sylvain has joined the esteemed cast of Universal’s upcoming addition to the “Jurassic World” franchise, titled “Jurassic World Rebirth.” This new installment, featuring Hollywood heavyweights Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, is set five years after the events of “Jurassic World Dominion.” The plot centers around a daring expedition into remote equatorial regions to extract DNA from three colossal prehistoric creatures, aiming for a revolutionary medical breakthrough. This film, slated for release in 2025, is directed by Gareth Edwards and penned by David Koepp, the talented screenwriter behind the original “Jurassic Park” and its sequel “The Lost World.”
Since Steven Spielberg’s groundbreaking 1993 film “Jurassic Park,” Universal, in collaboration with Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, has produced six movies in the series, collectively grossing over $6 billion worldwide. Spielberg returns to executive produce the latest installment alongside Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley under the Kennedy-Marshall banner. The project is overseen by Universal’s Executive VP of Production Development, Sara Scott, and Creative Executive of Production Development, Jacqueline Garell.
This high-profile role in the “Jurassic World” franchise marks another significant milestone for Béchir Sylvain. The Haitian American actor recently made waves by joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he plays a mystery role in Destin Daniel Cretton’s “Wonder Man” series on Disney+. Béchir Sylvain was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He later moved to Miami, Florida, where he attended Killian High School and Miami Dade College. Sylvain is a versatile Haitian-American artist known for his extensive work in television.
