GOLDSBORO – NC Freedom Fest, a vibrant, free, family-friendly festival, is set to take place on Saturday, September 7, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the heart of Downtown Goldsboro. This event is a heartfelt tribute dedicated to showing appreciation for our courageous military personnel and diligent first responders. It serves as a wonderful opportunity for the entire community to unite and express their profound gratitude.
NC Freedom Fest is not only about celebration but also about honoring those deeply impacted by deployment and showcasing the unwavering support of the community. All attendees are encouraged to wear RED, symbolizing “Remember Everyone Deployed,” as a collective gesture of appreciation for the sacrifices made by these heroes.
The street festival will kick off at 2:00 PM, continuing until 5:00 PM, and will feature an array of engaging activities. Attendees can explore various vendors offering unique goods, view static displays, and enjoy a car and bike show. Children will be delighted with activities designed especially for them, ensuring fun for all ages. Music on the North Stage, organized by Hope Extended, will provide continuous entertainment throughout the afternoon, adding to the festive atmosphere.
From 5:00 PM onwards, Freedom Field will host the main event. The evening will begin with a solemn military awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding service members, followed by an art contest that highlights the talents within our community. A thrilling F-15 flyover will captivate attendees, paying homage to the bravery and dedication of our service members.
Musical performances will elevate the festivities further. Kicking off the evening will be Brooke McBride, who is making a highly anticipated return to the event. The night will reach its peak with a performance by headliner Parmalee. This celebrated band, hailing from Eastern North Carolina, has achieved three number-one hits in 2023 and is currently on a national tour. Their performance promises to deliver a memorable and exhilarating conclusion to the festival.
