In an interview promoting their 2018 film “Destination Wedding,” Ryder disclosed that Coppola employed an actual Romanian priest to officiate the on-screen wedding.

“We actually got married in ‘Dracula.’ No, I swear to God, I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis used a real Romanian priest,” Ryder revealed during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “We shot the master and he did the whole ceremony. So, I think we’re married.”

Reeves also addressed this surprising speculation in an interview with Esquire. He humorously added: “We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are, Coppola says we are, so I guess we’re married under the eyes of God.”

Despite their on-screen nuptials, Reeves and Ryder have never dated in real life. Ryder was famously involved with Johnny Depp during the 90s. Their relationship began in 1989 and lasted four years before ending, during which Depp got his well-known ‘Winona Forever’ tattoo. Ryder has been in a relationship with Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011.

On the other hand, Reeves had an intermittent relationship with actress and record company executive Jennifer Syme between 1998 and 2001. Tragically, Syme passed away in 2001. Currently, Reeves is reported to be in a relationship with visual artist Alexandra Grant.
