Rishabh Pant has made a big leap in the latest ICC Test batting rankings, breaking into the top 10 list. The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman has climbed five spots to reach the 6th position. Notably, Pant is one of only two Indian players in the top 10, alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal.
However, it’s not all good news for India’s top players. Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have seen their rankings drop significantly. They struggled in the recent home series against New Zealand, where India lost 0-3. Rohit managed to score only 91 runs across six innings, while Kohli accumulated just 93 runs in the same number of innings. These underwhelming performances have caused both veterans to fall out of the top 20 in the rankings.
This shift in rankings highlights a changing landscape in Indian cricket, with younger talents like Pant and Jaiswal stepping up, while seasoned players face challenges maintaining their positions at the top.
