The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is currently working on reshaping its operations. The poor performance of the Pakistan cricket team in recent years has raised concerns, making it necessary to investigate the issue and take corrective measures. Despite being a well-established and financially strong organization with a lot of experience in managing cricket, the PCB knows that more changes are needed. They’ve already made some adjustments, and more are planned.
At the same time, it’s worth looking at the success of Afghanistan’s “A” cricket team, which recently won the 2024 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Oman. This is impressive considering Afghanistan’s cricket board is relatively new and doesn’t have the same level of financial resources as other bigger cricket boards. The PCB should take a closer look at what Afghanistan has done to build such a strong team so quickly, and learn from it. It’s important to figure out why Afghan cricketers are performing better in certain areas while Pakistani players are struggling to match their level.
