A brand-new virtual gaming bar dedicated to cricket is set to open in Leeds on Friday, November 15. Named Sixes, this exciting venue will be located in Headingley, just 300 meters away from the Yorkshire County Cricket Ground.
Sixes brings together cutting-edge sports technology and a fun social experience, where cricket fans can enjoy interactive batting challenges. While playing, visitors can dig into a delicious menu featuring pizzas, burgers, sharing platters, and a variety of craft cocktails and beers.
This new Leeds location will be the brand’s 12th bar in the UK, and the sixth one launched within the past year. It will take over the space that was previously home to Manahatta, offering a fresh new vibe for locals and visitors alike.
The bar spans two floors and includes three cricket nets where guests can test their skills in a range of exciting game modes. There are five different difficulty levels, each designed to challenge your hand-eye coordination, reflexes, power, and speed. And don’t worry – no prior cricket experience is required. Anyone can give it a shot and see how they fare against some of the world’s top “virtual” bowlers.
In addition to cricket games, Sixes offers a range of other entertainment options, including bar games, arcade machines, shuffleboards, and live big-screen broadcasts of all major sporting events. Whether you’re there for the cricket or just a fun night out, there’s plenty to enjoy.
For those looking to host a special event, Sixes also offers private hire options for corporate events and team-building activities.
The Sixes concept was created by friends Calum Mackinnon and Andy Waugh back in 2020. Speaking about the new opening in Leeds, Mackinnon shared his excitement: “Leeds is a city known for its love of both parties and cricket, so it’s the perfect place for us to bring the Sixes experience. Being right in Headingley, a location that’s deeply connected to cricket, is an added bonus. We can’t wait to open our doors and welcome everyone.”
This new venue promises to combine fun, food, and cricket in a way that fans of the sport – or anyone looking for a good time – won’t want to miss.
