Pakistan’s former Test and ODI cricketer, Tauseef Ahmed, praised the team’s outstanding performance in their 2nd ODI against Australia. He expressed confidence that Pakistan could keep up this great form and potentially win the series on Australian soil.
Tauseef explained that from the very beginning of the series, the Pakistani team showed high confidence and gave Australia a tough time in the first ODI. By the second match, Pakistan’s players truly excelled, delivering a remarkable win. He highlighted that Pakistan’s bowlers did an excellent job, preventing Australia’s batsmen from making any big scores.
Tauseef credited fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi for putting Australia under pressure early in the game, restricting them to a low total of just 163. Afterward, Pakistan’s openers, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, gave an exceptional performance with the bat.
He further pointed out that scoring runs in Australia is challenging, but both openers handled it well—especially Saim Ayub, who showed his talent. Tauseef also praised captain Rizwan Ahmed for his six catches behind the stumps and for effectively managing his bowlers throughout the match.
Looking ahead, Tauseef advised the Pakistani team to stay calm, maintain composure, and avoid getting nervous—particularly the batsmen. He emphasized that they should resist chasing every ball, especially those outside off-stump or short deliveries, which have often been a weakness for Pakistani players. He suggested that if the top-order batsmen can play through the full 50 overs, it sets the stage for a powerful finish in the final overs.
