Crystal Dynamics and Aspyr have just announced another exciting Tomb Raider collection: *Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered*, set to release on PC and consoles on February 14, 2025. This means fans will get to revisit *Angel of Darkness*, a game that didn’t quite live up to expectations when it first came out but will hopefully be in better shape this time around. This is the third Tomb Raider collection we’ve seen in recent years, following the *Lara Croft Collection* on the Nintendo Switch back in 2023.
After a long quiet period since 2018’s *Shadow of the Tomb Raider*, the franchise is making a big return. This couldn’t come at a better time, considering Netflix just dropped its new series *Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft*. On top of that, Amazon is working on a new movie and a brand-new Tomb Raider game. While five years might not seem like a long break, it’s the perfect moment to reintroduce younger players—those who may have missed out on the original games—to the legendary Lara Croft and remind everyone why she’s been such an iconic character for decades.
It’s no surprise that this revival kicks off with a look back at the franchise’s history. Alongside announcing the new remastered collection, Crystal Dynamics revealed that the *Tomb Raider* series has sold over 100 million copies worldwide during its 25-year run. They also highlighted some of Lara Croft’s recent cameos in popular games like *Brawlhalla*, *Dead by Daylight*, and *Rainbow Six Siege*.
In other gaming news, there’s a lot of buzz around *Metaphor: ReFantazio*, a new RPG from Atlus that’s shaping up to be a Game of the Year contender. Plus, there’s more excitement in the world of horror games with the *Silent Hill 2 Remake*—another beloved franchise getting its chance at a comeback.
