Microsoft Unveils New Xbox Wireless Headset with Dolby Atmos

Microsoft has just released a brand-new wireless headset for its Xbox consoles, but it’s only going to be available in select countries for now. This new model builds on the version they released back in 2021, keeping most of the original features but adding a few key improvements.

The biggest upgrade is the inclusion of Dolby Atmos surround sound, which promises a more immersive audio experience. On top of that, the battery life has been extended, now lasting up to 20 hours on a single charge. The microphone has also been upgraded with better sound quality and new features like auto-mute and voice isolation to cut out background noise during calls or gaming sessions. Plus, the headset comes in a sleek, all-black design that looks pretty stylish.

This new Xbox wireless headset is priced at $109.99, making it only $10 more expensive than the last version, which sold for $99.99. With this release, the old model will no longer be available, as the new one is set to fully replace it.

It’s worth noting that Sony’s Pulse wireless headset, which offers similar features, originally launched at $149.99, making it a bit cheaper than what Microsoft is offering here.

This Xbox headset is coming out just in time for the highly anticipated release of *Call of Duty Black Ops 6*, which drops on October 25, 2024. It’s no accident that both are launching around the same time—this will be the first *Call of Duty* game that’s available on day one through a subscription service. If you’re subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, you’ll be able to play it “for free” as part of your membership. There’s also a bunch of other games coming to Game Pass this month, so you might want to check those out too.

In other Xbox news, there’s been a big leadership change: the Head of Xbox Game Studios has been replaced by the head of Rare Studios, who will now oversee all of Microsoft’s first-party game development teams.
