SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P: Top PS5 Headset Now $94.99 on Amazon

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P has quickly become my top choice for a gaming headset on the PlayStation 5 since it launched this year. While it’s not the most premium option from SteelSeries, its lightweight design, easy setup, and user-friendly app have made it my go-to PS5 accessory. Originally priced at $129.99, it was already a great deal for those who want the quality SteelSeries is known for without the hefty price tag. Now, it’s an even better deal with Amazon dropping the price to its lowest ever.

You can currently snag the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P wireless gaming headset for just $94.99 on Amazon, which is $35 off the original price. This headset has earned its reputation as one of the best mid-range gaming headsets. And with this new price cut, you’re getting the same high-quality sound and features that you’d typically expect from much more expensive headsets.

Unlike other SteelSeries headsets in the Arctis Nova lineup, the Nova 5P is specifically designed for PlayStation 5. Its Xbox counterpart, the Arctis Nova 5X, hasn’t seen much of a price drop, but the Nova 5P has been steadily getting cheaper, now hitting a price under $100. At this price point, you might expect lower audio quality or flashy gimmicks like RGB lighting. But instead, the Nova 5P delivers deep, bass-heavy sound, both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connections, a retractable mic, long battery life, and a wide variety of audio presets—all bundled into an affordable package.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P focuses on practicality rather than flashy features. It skips things like RGB lighting and instead offers multiple audio presets designed by streamers and developers. You can choose from presets tailored for specific games like Baldur’s Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, and Dead by Daylight—making it a great pick for horror game fans during spooky season.

Fans of Dead by Daylight will love how the EQ settings make the killer’s terror radius sound even scarier. As someone who enjoys horror games but isn’t necessarily great at them, I found myself winning more often because the Nova 5P helped me hear every subtle movement from my opponents.

If pre-made presets aren’t your thing, you can customize your own EQ settings through the app, and you don’t even need a gaming PC to do it. The app also lets you adjust the ClearCast retractable microphone’s settings. The mic can slide out easily from the right ear cup whenever you need it. It can be a bit tricky to adjust while wearing the headset, but if you’re not into chatting on Discord or just want to listen to music, pushing the mic back in transforms this into a solid everyday headset.

The accompanying app doesn’t just help with sound settings; it gives you control over the entire headset experience. You can check battery levels, switch between Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connections (with the included dongle), and more. Just note that when you turn on your PS5, it will automatically set the headset as your audio output—you’ll want to adjust that in your PS5 settings if needed.

In terms of comfort, the Arctis Nova 5P stands out compared to other mid-range headsets. Thanks to its elastic headband and plush foam ear cushions, even after hours of gaming in Dead by Daylight, I often forget I’m even wearing it. Weighing only 1.61 pounds, it’s super lightweight and comfortable for long sessions.

The only real downside is the microphone quality. It’s not terrible but can come across as harsh or overly loud to others since it lacks a foam cover. However, it does offer audio monitoring with adjustable sidetone directly on the headset or through the app to help balance things out.

The Arctis Nova 5P also comes with its own carrying case, which has kept my headset safe no matter where I’ve taken it. There’s even a small pouch inside so you won’t lose that tiny 2.4GHz dongle.

At its original price of $129.99, this headset was already one of my favorites in the mid-range category. But now that it’s dropped to its lowest price ever on Amazon, it’s an even easier recommendation for PlayStation 5 gamers looking for both quality and comfort without breaking the bank.
