Liam Neeson in Talks to Star in Dark Heist Comedy ‘4 Kids Walk Into A Bank’ at TIFF

FilmNation is set to unveil a highly anticipated project at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF): a dark heist comedy titled “4 Kids Walk Into A Bank.” This film is generating significant buzz, and for good reason.

Acclaimed actor Liam Neeson, known for his riveting performances in films like “Taken,” is currently in negotiations to star in the lead role. He will be joined by a stellar cast of rising stars, including Talia Ryder, who made waves with her performance in “Never Rarely Sometimes Always,” Noah Jupe from “A Quiet Place,” Whitney Peak of “Gossip Girl” fame, Jack Dylan Grazer from “It,” and newcomer Deacon Phillippe, the son of Hollywood icons Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe.

Neeson will portray Danny, an ex-bank robber who has left his criminal past behind to focus on his beloved teenage granddaughter, Paige, played by Ryder. However, when Paige learns that Danny’s old gang is coercing him into one final heist to settle a lingering debt, she devises a bold plan. Determined to protect her grandfather, Paige recruits her three closest friends to rob the bank a day before the gang’s planned heist, aiming to save Danny from returning to a life of crime.

The film will be directed by Frankie Shaw, best known for her work on “SMILF,” and is adapted from the graphic novel by Matthew Rosenberg and Tyler Boss. The screenplay has been crafted by Matt Robinson, with revisions made by Shaw herself.

“4 Kids Walk Into A Bank” has been developed and co-financed by Erik Feig’s Picturestart and will also be produced by Seth Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures alongside Black Mask Studios. FilmNation will handle international sales for the film, with Jessica Switch overseeing for Picturestart and Matt Pizzolo overseeing for Black Mask Studios.

As the film heads to the TIFF market, negotiations are still underway to finalize talent deals, leaving some room for adjustments. Nonetheless, this project stands out as a compelling option for buyers.

Liam Neeson is represented by CAA and Artists Rights Group. Talia Ryder is represented by UTA, Untitled Entertainment, and McKuin Frankel Whitehead. Noah Jupe is represented by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Whitney Peak is with CAA, Play Management, and Jackoway, Austen, Tyerman. Jack Dylan Grazer is represented by UTA, Tanguay Talent and Entertainment, and Jackoway, Austen, Tyerman. Deacon Phillippe is represented by CAA and LBI Entertainment. The graphic novel’s creators, Boss & Rosenberg, are represented by Matt Sugarman at Weintraub Tobin.

This exciting blend of talent and gripping storyline promises to make “4 Kids Walk Into A Bank” a standout feature at TIFF and beyond.
