Indian Sports Minister Visits Gachibowli Stadium, Discusses Hockey Infrastructure Upgrade

Hyderabad: Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Hon’ble Minister for Sports and Labour and Employment in the Government of India, made a noteworthy visit to Gachibowli Stadium today. This visit is part of his continuous efforts to bolster sports development and infrastructure across the nation.

During his tour of the stadium, he was met by Sri C.R. Bheem Singh, General Secretary of the Telangana Hockey Association, and the association’s President, Sri Konda Vijay Kumar. They presented a formal representation to the Minister, emphasizing the urgent need for a new AstroTurf at Gachibowli Stadium. This initiative aims to significantly upgrade the hockey facilities in Hyderabad, making it a more conducive environment for training and competition.

The Hon’ble Minister attentively listened to their plea, recognizing the critical importance of state-of-the-art sports infrastructure in nurturing emerging talent and promoting hockey within the region. The relaying of the AstroTurf is poised to be a monumental step towards enhancing the sport not only in Telangana but also on a national scale.
