Jakhama YO, Sechü Zubza FC, F4C Academy Advance in NSF Martyrs’ Trophy

KOHIMA — The ongoing 24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy continues to captivate football enthusiasts, as Jakhama YO, Sechü Zubza FC, and F4C Academy triumphed in their respective matches on the sixth day, advancing to the next round of this prestigious tournament. Organized by the Angami Students’ Union, the event is being held at the iconic Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima.

In a riveting opening match, Jakhama YO showcased their dominance with a resounding 6-0 victory over Youngster FC. The match saw an impressive display of skill and teamwork, with Keduhoto Zao opening the scoring. Vikuto Tase followed with another goal, and Keneileho Khatso along with Kulse Zhotso each netted two goals to solidify their lead. Keneileho Khatso’s exceptional performance earned him the title of player of the match, highlighting his pivotal role in the team’s success.

The second match featured Sechü Zubza FC clashing with Magdaline CC in a closely contested game. Magdaline CC took an early lead with goals from Nosal Pucho and Dupisa Pucho within the first seven minutes, setting a challenging pace for their opponents. However, Sechü Zubza FC’s seasoned player, Rhitso Mero, turned the tide dramatically by scoring all four goals for his team, securing a 4-2 victory. Rhitso Mero’s outstanding contribution to the match was rightfully acknowledged as he was named player of the match.

In the day’s final encounter, F4C Academy delivered a striking performance against Kigwema Students Union, winning 4-0. Kishore initiated the scoring spree with the first goal, followed by Thothong who found the back of the net twice. Lungin added the finishing touch with another goal, sealing a comprehensive win for F4C Academy. Paolenmang’s noteworthy efforts throughout the match earned him the accolade of player of the match.

As these teams move forward in the tournament, their victories reflect not only their individual talents but also their strategic gameplay and cohesive teamwork. The NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy continues to be a platform where emerging football talents can shine, offering thrilling matches that keep fans on the edge of their seats.
