Former Big Brother Naija Contestant, Franca Owumi, Passes Away After Brief Illness

Franca Owumi, a notable personality who gained widespread recognition as the first runner-up in the inaugural season of the reality TV show Big Brother Naija in 2006, has sadly passed away. Her demise was publicly announced through a heartfelt post on her Instagram account, which read, “A daughter and sister. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.”

Owumi’s death came after a brief illness, leaving many fans and followers in shock. She left an indelible mark on the first season of Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) with her vivacious dance moves and magnetic personality, which endeared her to many viewers.

Season 1 of BBNaija also featured other prominent contestants such as Katung Aduwak, who emerged as the winner, and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, who has since become a well-known media personality. Others included Gideon Okeke, an accomplished actor, and the late Joseph Ada.

In addition to her television fame, Franca Owumi was also a talented musician. In 2012, she released two singles titled “Gbadun You” and “Diva” under her own record label, Cisca Entertainment. Her passion for music was matched by her literary skills; she contributed to Revista, an international magazine based in Ghana.

Franca Owumi’s multifaceted career and vibrant spirit have left a lasting legacy. She will be remembered for her contributions to the entertainment industry and the joy she brought to her audience.
