As per ANI reports, this new series will unfold within the “raw and gritty landscape of Bihar,” promising a gripping gangster drama.

Set to begin production in early 2025, Badshah of Begusarai will delve into the life of a formidable and multifaceted protagonist, often likened to the “Pablo Escobar of Bihar.” The narrative promises to explore the complexities of the criminal underworld with an intensity that surpasses even their previous works.

Sunil Bohra expressed palpable excitement about revisiting a world reminiscent of Gangs of Wasseypur. The announcement of Badshah of Begusarai coincides with the theatrical re-release of Gangs of Wasseypur, another collaboration between Sunil and Akhilesh. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, this two-part film returned to cinemas on August 30, running until September 5. The film’s plot centers on the coal mining mafia, featuring an ensemble cast including Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadha, Rajkummar Rao, and Piyush Mishra.

Anurag Kashyap announced this re-release through an Instagram post, sharing official posters and stating, “In three days the Gang will be back again .. GOW back in cinemas.” This re-release not only rekindles the film’s legacy but also sets the stage for the upcoming web series.
