Thrilling Action Unfolds on Day Two of the NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy

KOHIMA — The second day of the 25th edition of the NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy unfolded with thrilling football action at the Indira Gandhi Stadium (IGS) in Kohima. The matches showcased impressive performances by Seithekema FC, Re-United FC, and F4C Academy, each securing a well-deserved victory.

The day began with Seithekema FC delivering a masterclass in football, dominating Nagaland University with a resounding 5-0 win. From the outset, Seithekema FC made their intentions clear, displaying exceptional coordination and skill. Baoringdao Bodo opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a deft finish, setting the tone for the match. He further cemented his dominance by netting another goal in the 60th minute. Kahornghan also contributed significantly to the scoreboard with two goals, striking in the 31st and 60th minutes, showcasing his precision and timing. Ketholelie added to the tally with a goal in the 43rd minute, capping off a stellar team performance. Baoringdao Bodo’s outstanding display earned him the man of the match accolade.

In the second encounter, Re-United FC faced off against Kohima Bible College in a nail-biting contest that ended with a narrow 3-2 victory for Re-United FC. The highlight of the match was Besuve Rhakho’s extraordinary hat-trick, scoring three goals in quick succession within the first 21 minutes (7th, 15th, and 21st minutes). His relentless pursuit of goals secured him the man of the match title. Kohima Bible College fought valiantly, with Joyjit reducing the deficit in the 22nd minute and Thashalo adding another goal in the 33rd minute, but it wasn’t enough to overturn Re-United FC’s lead.

The day’s final match saw F4C Academy demolish SNGC Football School with an overwhelming 11-1 victory. Gingunhao Haokip was in sensational form, scoring four goals (1st, 9th, 25th, and 31st minutes) in a brilliant individual performance. The Academy’s relentless offensive play left no chance for SNGC to recover. Manminlal further extended their lead with two goals in the 49th and 59th minutes. Lungin Lhouvum showcased his prowess by adding three goals in the 54th, 62nd, and injury time (70+2 minutes). Additionally, Lungkhongam netted a goal in the 56th minute, while Houlungou Mate added another in the 68th minute. SNGC Football School’s sole consolation came from Hengouhao Vaiphei, who scored in the 70th minute. Lungin Lhouvum’s exceptional contribution earned him the man of the match honor.

Looking ahead, the tournament continues with more exciting matches:

* At 11:30 am, Asufü Football Academy will clash with Kohima Sports Club.
* At 1:30 pm, Kohima Village YO will face off against Asufü Christian Institute.
