Rohit Sharma: Indian Cricket Team Not Underestimating Bangladesh in Upcoming Test Series

Chennai: After a rejuvenating month-long break, Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma emphasized that his team is not underestimating Bangladesh in the upcoming two-match Test series set to commence this Thursday. Sharma made it clear that the Indian squad does not view the clashes with the Tigers as mere practice games for the more formidable challenges that lie ahead.

Following the Bangladesh series, India is scheduled to host New Zealand for a three-Test series beginning on October 16 in Bengaluru. This will be followed by an arduous five-match Test tour in Australia, with the first match starting in Perth on November 22. These matches are critical components of the World Test Championship calendar. Currently, India, twice runners-up, lead the standings with an impressive 68.52 percentage points. Surprisingly, Bangladesh is positioned fourth with 45.83 percentage points, bolstered by their recent 2-0 away victory over Pakistan. Rohit Sharma is acutely aware of these standings and their implications.

As the Indian team gears up for this packed schedule, Sharma’s focus remains steadfast on each game, recognizing that every match contributes to their ultimate goal in the World Test Championship. The skipper’s perspective underscores the importance of not losing sight of immediate challenges while preparing for future encounters.
