Tripura Chief Minister Calls for Enhanced Sports Training Programs and Infrastructure Development

Agartala (Tripura) [India], September 14 (ANI): During a significant event in Agartala, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha passionately called for enhanced training programs in the sports sector, stressing that such initiatives are essential for elevating performance levels and nurturing a culture of excellence within the state’s sports ecosystem.

Speaking to a gathering, Chief Minister Saha articulated, “Our state is brimming with untapped sports talent. Alongside our efforts to develop infrastructure, providing comprehensive training will undoubtedly lead our athletes to achieve remarkable success and bring honor to Tripura.”

Highlighting the critical role of consistent practice and robust fitness regimens, the Chief Minister proposed the integration of yoga and gymnastics into athletes’ training routines to bolster their physical and mental well-being.

The Chief Minister’s address took place at the felicitation and award distribution ceremony hosted by the Tripura Cricket Association at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.

In his speech, he urged officials of the Tripura Cricket Association to relentlessly pursue excellence, with a vision to achieve national and international accolades for Tripura. He reiterated that the primary objective should be the holistic development of the sports sector and its players.

Elaborating on the ongoing enhancements in sports infrastructure, Chief Minister Saha mentioned the ambitious project of constructing an international-standard stadium at Narsinghgarh. Despite facing several obstacles, including space constraints for vehicle movement, the project is progressing.

To resolve these issues, he disclosed that directives had been issued to the District Magistrate and relevant officials. If required, additional land would be acquired and allocated to the Tripura Cricket Association to ensure the stadium’s seamless development.

The event was graced by notable figures such as Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Tinku Roy, former Indian cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar, IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal, and honorary TCA president Tapan Lodh, among other distinguished guests. (ANI)
