Jodhpur (Rajasthan) [India], September 19 (ANI): Renowned cricket umpires Billy Bowden, Ranmore Martinesz, and TV umpire Jerry Matibiri have been announced as part of the officiating team for the third season of the Legends League Cricket (LLC), which kicks off on Friday.

These distinguished umpires will oversee a total of 25 matches across four cities: Jodhpur, Surat, Jammu, and Srinagar. Their presence is set to elevate the quality of officiating in this highly anticipated tournament.

Billy Bowden, known worldwide for his flamboyant signaling style and showmanship, expressed his excitement: “The Legends are legends for a reason and it’s fantastic to be here for this opportunity. Everyone’s in great form and very competitive, and we are looking forward to a thrilling season. Jodhpur is a wonderful place to visit and umpire, making it all the more exciting to be part of the Legends League Cricket.”

Ranmore Martinesz, who has had a decorated career including officiating in World Cups as part of the ICC umpire panel, echoed Bowden’s sentiments: “To watch all the superstars in one place is truly rewarding. I have followed these legends since their early days in cricket, and it is great to see them return to play competitive cricket. Legends League Cricket is set for another fantastic season, and I am thrilled to be part of it.”

In addition to Bowden and Martinesz, Jeremiah ‘Jerry’ Matibiri from Zimbabwe, along with Nigel Llong, another ICC panelist who has officiated in World Cups and ICC qualifiers, will bring their vast experience to the league. Their combined expertise promises to maintain the high standards of cricketing officiating throughout the tournament.

The LLC will commence at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur on September 20. Following this, the league will move to the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat on September 27. The third leg will take place at the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu starting October 3. This venue marks a significant return of international cricket after a 40-year hiatus, offering fans a long-awaited chance to witness their favorite cricketing heroes live.

The final leg of the LLC will be held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar from October 9 to 16. Cricket enthusiasts in Srinagar have been eagerly awaiting this event for nearly half a century, and their anticipation will finally be met with live cricketing action.
